bitpedant
Terms of Use
Last updated: May 2026
By using bitpedant.com or the bitpedant macOS application, you agree to these terms.
Who we are
bitpedant is a product of Original Engineering, a Nevada limited liability company.
What bitpedant does
bitpedant is a macOS menubar utility that reads CoreAudio stream properties on your output device and reports whether the audio signal is being resampled by the operating system. It is a passive diagnostic tool. It does not modify your audio, your system settings, or any third-party application.
Using the site and the app
You are welcome to download, install, and use bitpedant on macOS devices you own or are authorized to use. The app runs entirely on your device. No account, login, or internet connection is required.
What you can't do
- Redistribute the app or sell it as your own product
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code except as permitted by applicable law
- Use any automated system (bots, scrapers) to extract data from this site
- Use bitpedant or this site in any way that is illegal or harmful
Our content
Original content on bitpedant.com — including the bitpedant application, text, images, and code — is © 2026 Original Engineering. All rights reserved.
Third-party services
This website is hosted by Firebase Hosting (Google). The website uses Google Fonts to load typefaces. The bitpedant macOS application itself does not contact any third-party services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
No warranty
bitpedant is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the verdicts it reports are correct, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. CoreAudio, third-party drivers, and audio applications behave in ways that are not always documented; bitpedant reports what it observes, not ground truth.
Do not rely on bitpedant for professional audio engineering, mastering, or any decision where bit-perfect playback is mission-critical without independent verification.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Original Engineering shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of audio fidelity — arising out of your use of, or inability to use, bitpedant or this site.
Distribution
bitpedant v1 is distributed as an unsigned macOS application. You will see a Gatekeeper warning on first launch. You are responsible for verifying that the build you downloaded from bitpedant.com matches the file you installed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site or the app means you accept any changes.
